Summer Reading and Diaries13 July 2019 (by Claire McKinnon) |
Keeping our children reading and writing.
I already have my reading list sorted for the holiday, for me it is one of the best things about the summer break. More than ever I spot children lost in books around school and it is wonderful that these children have already discovered the wonders of losing yourself in a book. Yuu can help your child to do this by signing up to the summer reading challenge at your local library. Find out more here:

Children also have the option of doing a summer diary. This is a wonderful way to keep children writing over the holidays but also of keeping a wonderful keepsake of family and friend special time. All diaries are exhibited and rewarded with a certificate and a small prize.
The attachment is a list of things that you can do with your child that will not cost the earth. I intend to do a number of them with my grandsons. I hope you find it as useful as I do. Mrs Gallagher
