St Mary Magdalen's Catholic Primary School

Year 5 were the lucky recipients of a free residential in Keswick at Castlerigg Manor. The St Vincent de Paul Society of the parish (SVP) paid for all children to go and we are extremely grateful. The retreat is a follow up to the children making the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation in Year 4. The hopes are that it allows the children time to reflect on the faith journey and give them spiritual reflection time. The children have played team games, made posters, done arts and crafts, had prayer time and of course walked and enjoyed the glorious setting. Vincent Gallagher from the SVP joined Miss Brooker, Mrs Henry, Becky and Mrs James on the trip and talked to the children about the work of the SVP and what they could do if they became involved in Mini Vinnies.
