This week in maths, Year 5 have learned about square numbers and cube numbers.
We used multi-link blocks to see what happens when you multiply a number by itself to make a square number.
We then made cubes with the blocks to visualise the numbers being multiplied by themselves again.
After breaking a 3x3x3 cube apart to count the blocks, we were quite surprised that it was made up of 27 blocks - but this helped us to develop our fluency with numbers and practise multiplication.
