This week our school joined in with a live online ‘masterclass’ workshop with published poet, Ian Bland.
We learned all about kennings, which were also used in Anglo Saxon times to write descriptive poems, such as Beowulf.
As part of the workshop, year 5 had a go at writing their own kennings. The children performed them to the class so that we could guess who or what they were describing. They even included actions – well done everyone!
