Two weeks ago, we set up an investigation to see what conditions seeds/plants need to grow healthily. We have worked in groups to ensure that the cress seeds had everything they were ‘allowed’ to have.
Yesterday we made some excellent observations of the results and showed good understanding of why the cress was looking like it did. We now know that plants need water to germinate the seeds, water to keep the plant rigid and hydrated, light and air (to make their own food), soil to provide necessary nutrients and warmth to encourage the growth. We are enjoying this topic and look forward to planting and caring for our own seeds.
