This morning Year 5 and 6 had the honour of a Zoom call with Chris Lubbe, a former bodyguard of Nelson Mandela.
To listen to the story of someone so close to such a historic figure in Nelson Mandela is something not to be forgotten. Chris talked to the children about Apartheid and the struggles he and other black people went through during that period. His story was inspirational and at times saddening. He taught us so many lessons of forgiveness, hope, determination, listening… the list is endless. The children all listened intently and their questions at the end were incredible and thought-provoking. Make sure to ask your children about their experience and what they took away from it.
