Year 3's Roman adventure continued....

4 July 2019 (by Victoria Woosey)

Another busy morning in Year 3 including learning about Roman numerals, learning how to play a Roman board game as well as playing outdoor Roman inspired games.

The children have had another great day.

With Mrs Woosey, they have learnt how to play the strategy based game 'Rota' which was a regular game that the Roman soldiers would have played. They have also made their own playing stones so that the children can challenge an adult at home tonight!

With Miss Morgan and Mrs Leung, the children have become Roman numeral experts by learning to read, write and calculate with them.  They have now been tasked with some detective work to try to spot them when out and about.

We played some Roman inspired energetic games. 'Felis Mus' was a funny one and required fast legs and quick thinking.  This was all followed by a lovely class picnic on the field.  Well done Year - you really got stuck in!

A truly memorable series of experiences. Please have a look at some more photos on the class pages.
