Year 4 have enjoyed a lovely day being scientists. We have compared the viscosity of different liquids and how quickly they flow. We discovered that honey has a high viscosity and so flows slowly and that oil is very difficult to clean.
We ended the day by making oobleck. The children loved playing with this non-Newtonian substance, is it a solid or a liquid? Who knows. If you would like to make this at home, just add a bit of water to some cornflour. It’s great fun and easy to clean.
