In maths this week, year 2 have been looking at fractions. We began the week looking at halves, identifying them and splitting amounts in half. Then we moved onto quarters, again by splitting things into 4 equal groups. To make sure these groups were fair, Miss Stothert brought in a cake which we split into half and then quarters. We looked at different ways to split cakes into quarters before getting to try it ourselves! It's a good job fractions need equal groups otherwise it wouldn't be fair if Miss got a big piece and we didn't!
