Year 4 have had a great day baking honey cakes, sampling Greek food and making Laurel wreath crowns.
We’ve had a busy day in year 4 celebrating the end of our Ancient Greek topic.
We spent the morning baking honey cakes, the children got stuck in cracking eggs, weighing out ingredients and giving everything a good mix.
We also made our own wreath crowns that were fit for Olympic victors.
During the afternoon, we planned out our explanation text on the Trojan war, explored the Greek alphabet and enjoyed some Greek food. The children were very adventurous, sampling olives, figs, feta cheese and flat bread with hummus.
We’ve all really enjoyed learning about the Ancient Greeks and today was the perfect way to finish it off.
