This week in Year 5 we launched our exciting new topic - we are immersing ourselves into the ancient civilisation of The Maya, and as part of this we have introduced our exhilarating new class book - an adventure story called ‘Middleworld’.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a virtual visit from the authors who gave our class a flavour of life in Central America and showcased some of the historical locations we will be looking at over the coming weeks.
On Friday the children were also given the chance to sample some of the critters you might have to eat if you were trying to survive in the Guatemalan rainforest, like the characters in the book. See our class page for some photos from this week.
