School Team battle the mud at the South Ribble Cross Country

Well done to all of the Cross Country team who competed in the South Ribble Competition at Priory Academy last Thursday. Each member of the team put in a terrific performance and despite the difficult, muddy conditions they all finished the race with a big smile on their face. A total of eleven local schools competed. The boys team finished 6th and the girls team went one better, finishing joint 5th. Mr Gaughan was delighted with the result as these were relatively young teams with a number of Year 5 and Year 4 pupils included - all bodes well for the future! Thank you to the parents and grandparents who came along to support the team and also to Mrs Lowe for acting as ‘official photographer’. The attitude and conduct of the selected pupils was a credit to the school so well done Ethan Briscoe, Myles Devereux, Reagan Mitchell, Lewis Sampson, Shaquille Costello, Amy Riding, Anna Gaughan, Elena Domokos, Malakhiyah Wilson-Berry and Rebecca Lowe. It was also encouraging to see so many other pupils attend the trials for the team. Well done to everybody for having a go, it is great to see that we have a strong pool of sporting talent.
