This morning we carried out an investigation to see whether having longer femurs meant that you were able to jump further.
We worked in groups to measure, record, compare and sort. Mr Hughes even got involved.
Ask your child what our conclusions were. Our results were mixed and whilst some of the children with the longest femurs did jump the furthest, there were also a couple of children who had the shortest femurs in their group, but could actually jump the furthest!
We made sure that everything was fair by changing only one thing and keeping all the other conditions the same.
We had lots of fun and worked well in our teams.
