Year 4 Roman Day13 July 2021 (by Cheryl Wallace (Cheryl Wallace)) |
We have had a fantastic day today making mosaic pictures, playing Roman games and meeting a Roman Soldier.
During the morning we made a Roman Board Game called Rota. We had lots of fun making and playing it, ask your child to teach you how to play it and you too can have lots of fun. We made a mosaic picture whilst learning about Roman Numerals and decorated a mosaic biscuit. During the afternoon, we met Marcus, a Roman Soldier. We were transported back in time to learn all about being a Roman Soldier. We got into character and learned about the art of marching, the importance of shields and other forms of protection. He showed us artefacts found in a Roman Centurion’s bag and helped us to think about their possible uses.
Please look at our class page to see lots of photographs of the day.
