This afternoon Year 5 went to St Andrew's Church in Leyland to join the 'Never Such Innocence' project.
The project is aimed at giving children and young people a platform to share their voice about conflicts both past and present. After our workshop earlier in the week, 3 children were selected to perform their poems at St Andrew's. Lydia, Oliver and Henli were chosen by Nik, the poet who visited class earlier in the week.
They performed fantastically to a packed church which included the Mayor of South Ribble, Seema Kennedy OBE MP and Lady Lucy French, amongst others.
After their performances, Lady Lucy French was reduced to tears which shows how heartfelt and amazing their poetry was.
Well done to everyone in the class for their amazing poems and a special mention to those three children for their performance.
