Today, Year 3 used close observation skills to compare three soil samples in science. We learnt what can be found in soil… we found twigs, mini beasts, humus, clay, bits of rocks. We also learnt all about the different layers.
The children then got chance to carry out the ‘Ribbon Test’ to see if the soil was sandy or clay based. It got messy but it put a smile on our faces. Please see our class page for more photos.
