St Mary Magdalen's remembers

Across the classes in school children worked on different activities related to Armistice Day. At 11am we marked the two minute silence in the hall and even Reception Class stood respectfully. In the afternoon classes shared their work in a powerful Remembrance celebration. The Year 2 children told us the history of Remembrance Day. Year 5 had written prayers and reflections on freedom, sacrifice and remembrance. The children in year 4 had each written an acrostic poem spelling out the word REMEMBER. Reception class had printed poppies using their handprints. Year 1 had painted a wreath using their hands and read some prayers. Year 6 sang us a remembrance song and Year 3 performed a poem that they had learned, written by Mrs Ainscough. Parents you can be incredibly proud of how your children worked and reflected today.
